Our Sunday morning worship is a time in which we glorify God together through Scripture-centered preaching, corporate prayer, a blend of praise music and hymns, and the ordinances of believer’s baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
Worship is one of the supreme privileges that our Creator has given us. Sunday mornings are an opportunity for us to celebrate all that God is, all that He has done, and all that He has promised to do. The worship team strives to make Sunday mornings an opportunity for the Highland community to glorify God together, to remind each other of the common hope we share, and to encourage and exhort each other to live out that worship during the rest of the week.
The following elements are central to our Sunday morning worship services.
Scripture-Centered Preaching and Teaching
The goal of all preaching and teaching at Highland is to bring the lives of the members of our community into conformity with the revelation of God as found in His inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word.
We practice regular corporate prayer believing in its power to effect great change in individual lives, our church body, our communities, our nation, and our world.
At Highland we have a mixed service combining hymns, older choruses, and new praise and worship songs led by our worship team. Our primary values in music are sound doctrine and substance, rather than style.
We faithfully administer believer’s baptism and the Lord’s Supper as the two ordinances that God has given the Church.
