God’s Love is Secure - Romans 8:31-39

God’s love which is freely given to us cannot be torn away from us. He offers His love to all, and to those who receive His redemption (Romans 3:19-26), His love is secure. What a comforting thought! Sometimes life is difficult. Troubles beyond our imagination bear down on us. Extreme grief weighs on us like a wet shroud. A lack of basic provisions causes us to question His love. Or just the everyday stress of life slowly wears us down until we’ve forgotten that we are loved.

God freely loves us. The Father sacrificed His own Son – for us. When troubles come, when doubts arise, when pressure builds; none of that can tear us away from God and His love for us. As we prepare to celebrate the resurrection of the divine Son Jesus Christ, let us not forget that He brought the love of the Father to us in a new way.

Thoughts to Ponder
Whatever life holds for you right now, whatever tough situation you may be going through; remember that God’s love stands firm. When you begin to forget or doubt that God’s love is unfaltering – or even real – remember Paul’s words.

For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Rom 8:38-39; NAS)
